Bio

Mrs. Willie Mae Branum, 77, of 1001 East Market Street, Honey Grove, passed away suddenly at 10:28 p.m. Monday, April 17, 1989, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. Mrs. Branum was born inthe Harmon Community January 26, 1912, the daughter of Willie Lee Chaney and Katherine McFarland. She was married December 24, 1928, at Honey Grove to William Roland Branum, who preceded her in death on December 14, 1983. She was a retired seamstress having worked in Alteration at Pasley's Cleaners for several years and worked as seamstress for NaHas Manufacturing in Paris for 15 years before retiring. Mrs. Branum was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19th, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. Rev. Bobby Holt, pastor of the Honey Grove Baptist Church, was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Stanley 'Louwayne' Jaggers, of Quanah, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Battle of Paris and Mrs. Alyene McFatridge of Harmon Community, six grandchildren, Stewart Bates, Brent Bates and Keith Bates, Patricia Hayes, Churck Jaggers and Janna White; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One daughter, Peggy Joy Bates, preceded her in death on November 11, 1978.
