Bio

Alyene McFatridge, 93 of Paris (formerly) of Roxton, TX, passed away Saturday January 5, 2013. Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M, Monday January 7 at the First Baptist Church of Roxton, TX, with family visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. James Barnes will officiate with a private family burial to be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Ruth Alyene McFatridge was born December 17, 1919 to Willie Lee and Katherine Cole (McFarland) Chaney in the Harmon Community in Lamar Co. She married Gose McClure in 1940 who preceded her in death in 1984. She later married James M. McFatridge in 1987, who preceded her in death in 2001. She graduated from Honey Grove High School and worked for the SW Bell Telephone Co. as an operator. She was a homemaker, a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the First Baptist Church of Roxton. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, siblings, Mildred Trout, Willie Mae Branum, Mary Evelyn Battle and Willard Chaney. Alyene is survived by one step-daughter, Della McCranie and family; 2 nieces and one nephew and by numerous friends and family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of Roxton or the Hickory Grove Cemetery Assoc.
