Herald Coaster, December 10, 2003: Bennie Straznincky, 86, of Sugar Land, was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Rosenberg, and he passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2003. Funeral services for Mr. Straznicky are 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home, 1201 Fourth St. in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Jeff McDowell will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Straznicky's four grandsons and two nephews, Murray Straznicky and Ricky Straznicky. The family will receive guests from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Mr. Straznicky is survived by his daughters, Margie Hollier and her husband, Charles, of Sugar Land and Glenda Tracy of Sugar Land; a son, Ervin Lee Straznicky and his wife, Cathi, of Memphis, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Leigh-Anne Straznicky, Patti Stockdale, and Allison Tracy; four grandsons, Charles E. Hollier III, Scott L. Hollier, Trae Tracy, and Adam Straznicky; three great-grandsons, Christopher Hollier, Jacob Hollier, and Logan Hollier. Mr Straznicky was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. After 35 years of service with Jefferson Lake Sulphur Company, he enjoyed a restful retirement. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church of Sugar Land. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 431 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
