John Jay Hugh Rouse is noted on census information as being born in Alabama. He married Amanda "Mandy" Jones and is with her in the 1860 census in Tishomingo Miss. They had four girls: Jeanette Bell, Sarah Frances Elizabeth, Mary Adeline, and Martha Beatrice Rouse. In the 1870 census, they are living in McNairy, Tenn. Mandy died around 1875 and then J.H. married a widow w/one child. (Mary Mollie Delia Rodgers and her son, Walter Cook Roland) Mary Mollie and Jay Hugh then had 10 more children: Jay Regarth, Della Mae, Minnie Emmer, Nolen Hugh, Charles Veston, George Lee, Myrtle A., Lillie (infant grave next to Jay Hugh), Pearl Jessie, and Carl Shimmer. In 1880 Census, they are in Fannin, Texas and in 1890 and 1900 in Collin, Texas.
