Bio

Soloman, Gabriel and George Fitzhugh were among the first settlers in the vicinity now known as Forest Grove, coming there in 1854. The family came to Texas in 1844. In 1857 a brother, Willam, came to join them. Sol built a long cabin under a big pecan tree in 1854 and later, when the cabin burned, had lumber hauled overland from Jefferson in East Texas to build a frame house.
