Entombment in Restland Abbey Obituary appeared in the Dallas Morning News on June 22, 1960: Vivian A. Murdoch Vivian A. Murdoch, 66, of Merriman Parkway, a retired employee of Gulf Oil Corp., died Tuesday in his home after a long illness. Born in Abilene, he moved to Dallas in 1898. He had been associated with Gulf Oil Corp. for 35 years at his retirement in 1957. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Garland, the Garland Rotary Club and the Garland Masonic Lodge. Survivors are his wife: two daughters, Mrs. T. W. Hendricks of Andrews and Mrs. Clyde d. McHam of Midland; a son, Don M. Murdoch of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Blanchard of Dallas, Mrs. M. M. Skinner of Waco, and Mrs. Lulu Durham of Kerrville; two brothers, J. C. Murdoch and L. A. Murdoch, both of Dallas, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church of Garland with the Rev. R. C. Calvert officiating. The Rev. Duke Barron and the Rev. Robert M. Pitzer will assist. Entombment will be in Restland Abbey. Pallbearers will be Larry Murdoch, Bob Murdoch, Russell Murdoch, Dave Murdoch, Jimmy Murdoch and Larry Blanchard.
