Bio

Bill Meyer, age 76, of Archer City, Texas passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in Hospice of Wichita Falls. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Roger Deerinwater, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home. Bill was born October 23, 1936 in Forestburg, Texas to Theodore Roy Meyer and Anna Rebecca Barclay Meyer. He and Bobbie Jean Nivens were married May 19, 1956 in Forestburg, Texas. They moved to Archer City in March of 1957 where he lived for the rest of his life. Bill was a mechanic for Burns, Perry Pittman Ford, and Murphy Chevrolet before opening B & B Garage with Buck Chamberlain. He later owned and operated his own business until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie of Archer City; two sons, Robert Dale Meyer of Wichita Falls and Doyle Ray Meyer and partner George Feazel of West Monroe, Louisiana; three daughters, Beverly Jo Southard and husband, Chester of Archer City, Brenda Gail Goforth and fiancé, Charlie McMurtry of Archer City, and Rhonda Fay Russell and husband, Arthur of Lexington, South Carolina; one sister, Wilma Richardson of Forestburg; eight grandchildren, Kari Goforth of Wichita Falls, Erica Goforth of Frisco, Christopher, Khristal, Ashley, and Cameron Southard of Archer City, LeShe' Russell Mansor and husband, Jack of Charleston, South Carolina, and Austin Russell of Lexington, South Carolina; and one great-grandson, Brayson Southard of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Ray Holloway and his twin sister, Betty Ann Richardson; his brother,Theodore "Roy"; and his son-in-law, Vincent Goforth. Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Allen, Mark Hilbers, Burk Morris, Sam Nivens, Jack Whitsitt and Ronnie Williams. The family suggests memorials to the Archer County Library, P.O.
