-m-12-14-1941 Oma Deborah Metcalf. Served US Army WW II from 1942 to 1946 in the Pacific theater. Joseph Vasko , 79, Buckner, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs. Mr. Vasko was born May 16, 1919, in Porter, Ala, and had lived in Buckner for approximately six years. He worked for Interstate Brands for more than 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His survivors include his wife, Oma Vasko of the home; four sons, Donald Vasko, Dayton, Ky, Ken Vasko, Oak Grove, Gary Vasko, Battlefield, Mo, and Charles Vasko, Lake Havasu, Ariz; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 11 am, Wednesday at the Brown Funeral Home, Buckner. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 10 to 11 am, Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
