Her first marriage on Dec 7, 1932, in Moline, Elk County, Kansas, was to Michael Downey McKenny (1900, MO-1969, SD). They divorced. ============================== Obituary: Nellie L. Carroll, of O'Neill, NE., passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb 20, 2013, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital, O'Neill, NE. Nellie was born on a farm near Ashton, NE. on Sep 25, 1914, to John and Agnes (Czaplewski) Pelanowski. Nellie lived her entire life in Nebraska. She married Alfred Walsh Carroll on Apr 18, 1969, in Boulder, Colorado. He passed away on Jun 16, 1992. Nellie was a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was an avid pitch player and loved winning a dime. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society and the Catholic Daughter's of America. Nellie is survived by: sons: Frank McKenny and wife Lynette of Omaha and Jim McKenny and wife Patty of Denver, Colorado, 15 Grandchildren, and Numerous Great Grandchildren and Numerous Great Great Grandchildren, step-son: Bob Carroll and wife Lois of O'Neill and step-daughter: Marilyn Shelhamer of O'Neill and brother: Bud Pelanowski of Fremont. Nellie is preceded in death by: husband, Alfred W. "Al" Carroll, Son, Donald (Skip) McKenny, parents, John and Agnes Pelanowski, sisters, Mary Norman and Florence Janda, and brother, Ed Pelanowski. Burial was in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery, O'Neill, NE.
