Death Takes Mrs. Skinner, Resident of Ada Since 1906; Funeral Thursday. Mrs. Lura Skinner, 800 East Ninth, died at a local hospital at 12:40 Wednesday morning. She han been ill for several days. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Criswell's Chapel, Rev. Kenneth G. McCollough, her pastor, will be the minister. Burial will be in Rosedale. Mrs. Skinner was born September 31, 1877, in Texas. Her father, Rev. Norrell, was a Presbyterian Sunday School organizer for the western part of the big state. She was married to Edwin Skinner, but her husband lived less than two years. They had two children, one daughter, Yunette, who died many years ago, and John, who lives in Ada and is a foreman of the composing room of The Ada News. Also surviving Mrs. Skinner are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The kind lady moved to Ada in 1906, accompanying her brother, the late Byron Norrell. Most of the time she lived at her home at 800 East Ninth. It was there that she reared her children and became a friend and neighbor to many. Mrs. Skinner liked to sell goods, and for years she served as a saleslady for the old Surprise store, which later became Simpson's, and still later became Katz. Women not only in Ada by throughout the trading area liked to buy from her, for she was so kind and helpful that everyone loved her. Relatives already here and expected Wednesday night or early Thursday include her two brothers, Homer Norrell of San Antonio and Mabry Norrell of Dallas; her grandson, John Hawkins Skinner, and family of Wynnewood; her granddaughter, Mrs. E.L. Holt, and family of Lubbock; Mrs. John Skinner's mother, Mrs. E.L.
