Lida Josephine Smithey FLOYDADA - Lida Josephine Smithey, 85, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Plainview. Services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Horn officiating and the Rev. Les Hall assisting. Burial was in Floyd County Memorial Park. Mrs. Smithey was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Wolfe City to John and Pearl Shadden Barker. She married J.W. Smithey on Jan. 4, 1941, in Wolfe City. Survivors include three daughters, Martha Williams of Floydada, Beverly Teague of McKinney and Iwana Boggs of Midland; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
