Bio
Son of Otto & Henrietta (Kroeger)Kasper. attended school in Richland and Columbus, Nebraska. He worked with his dad in the family business for a number of years. He later went to Washington state where he worked at an atomic energy plant. On April 12, 1951, Rolland entered the US Army. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on January 1, 1953. He returned to Nebraska after his enlistment and went to work for Joe Sock Sand and Gravel. On September 9, 1956 he married Carolyn "Carrie" Hollmann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh. For a short time, Rolland worked in Wynot, Nebraska and South Dakota building missile silos. When he returned to Columbus, Rolland worked at Behlen Manufacturing from 1968 to 1978. After becoming disabled at Behlen's, Rolland kept busy in his own shop doing miscellaneous work for people. Rolland enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, and watching western movies. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, the American Legion Post 327 in Bellwood, and the Pawnee REACT.
