Bio
Mrs Rosa Lacy, 71, of 518 E. Capital Ave, died Wednesday evening at a local hospital after suffering a stroke. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev Dana Mark will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery. Mrs Lacy was born April 4, 1907 on a farm southeast of Grand Island, the daughter of Detlof and Louisa Lillienthal. She attended a rural school nearby and grew up on her parents home. On Dec 24, 1926, she married Lyles Lacy. They farmed southeast of Grand Island and later moved to Burwell. They returned to Grand Island in 1941. Mrs Lacy was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Auxiliary of Eagles Aerie No 378. Survivors include her husband, three sons, Eldon of Grand Island and Edward and Russell, both of Hastings, two daughters, Mrs Betty Beckman of Hastings and Mrs Marilyn Bergman of Lincoln, a brother Albert Lillienthal of Grand Island, a sister Mrs Wilma Simpson of Burwell, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a sister. Grand Island Independent Aug 31, 1978
