Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent December 1982 Eldon L. Lacy, 54, of 1604 Raymond Drive died Wednesday at a local hospital. Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jay Vetter will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association of the Heart Fund. Mr. Lacy was born Feb. 10, 1928, at Burwell, the son of Lyles and Rosa Liliethal Lacy. In 1941 the family moved to Grand Island where he completed his education. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Merna Scheer on Feb. 8, 1950, at Long Beach, Calif. After his military service they came to Grand Island where he was a salesman for the Ulry-Talbert Co. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow; a son, Larry of Elwood; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Debbie) Hilder of Central City and Candy Schmidt of Lincoln; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Willis (Betty) Beekman of Grand Island and Marilyn Bergman of Lincoln, and two brothers, Edward and Russell, both of Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.
