Bio

Albert Carl Detlef Lilienthal, 72, of No. 115 Pletcher Terrace died Tuesday at a local hospital. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. John Rinde will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association. Mr. Lilienthal was born Nov. 10, 1910, at Grand Island, the son of Carl and Louise Osterhold Lilienthal. He grew up and received his education in Grand Island. On March 16, 1932, he married Anna Lebruska at Taylor. He was a foreman for the Redding Potato Co. in Minatare for several years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1951 the couple moved to Grand Island where Mr. Lilienthat worked for Roush Mobile Homes. He later worked at Lutheran Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Eagles Aerie No. 378 and a social member of the Platt-Deutsche Society. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Lucille) Walahoski of Grand Island; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Wilma) Simpson of Burwell. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
