Julia O. Self, 96, of McKinney, died Jan. 25, 2005, in McKinney. She was born on June 12, 1908 in Tioga, to Daniel and Jennie (Lowery) Umstead. She was a homemaker and a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church for the last 50 years. She is survived by her sons, Houston Self of McKinney, Marvin Self of Greenville, and Gerald Self of Melissa; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eliga Self; parents, Daniel and Jennie Umstead; son, Kenneth Paul Self; granddaughter, Karen Lynn Self; great grandson, Matthew Wayne Self; sister, Daisy Hinsley; brothers, Squire Umstead, Clint Umstead and Robert Jameson.
