SAYRE, Okla. — Joe Paul Smith, 75, of Sayre died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock, Texas, with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Gageby Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Smith was born May 11, 1937, in Shamrock to Tom and Jessye Jewel Pike Smith. He married Joyce Helton on Oct. 28, 1961, in Shamrock. Survivors include his wife; a son, Billy Crossland of Huntsville, Texas; a daughter, Marsha Mitchell of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Pike Smith of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Nan Mauldin of Albuquerque, N.M., Rita Blackwell of Anson, Texas, and Billie Matlock of Denver; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
