William Metzger Victim of Fatal Car Accident- William Metzger, well known pioneer merchant of this city, lost his life in a tragic accident which occurred within a half block of his home last Friday evening about 6:30 when he was struck by a passing motorist. Mr. Metzger was walking along the highway on his way home from the store when he was struck by a car driven by Leo Keller, Yankton, SD building contractor. Keller's car, it is reported, skidded when he applied the brakes in an effort to avoid hitting the pedestrian and swung about on the highway, the rear fender of the car struck down Mr. Metzger before it crashed into trees which were growing along the parking lane.
