Alverus Byron Post, Jr. (II) and his brothers were raised by their mother and step-father, James Quillen. (Lewis) Post who had passed 5 years prior, were buried along with Byron in his casket. (As was the custom of the day, if there was to be no immediate burial, a mortuary would hold cremains until another family member died and was being buried, instead of releasing them directly to family or friends as we do today.)
