Dr. William Luther Post (MD/Rev.) was a practicing physician and surgeon, in addition to being a minister who delivered weekly sermons and taught Sunday school. He collected a vast library of 3,000 books, and was a Mason. Dr. W. Luther Post graduated from Johnson's Bible College (now Johnson University) in Kimberlin Heights, TN, and received degrees from the Christian College (now Culver-Stockton College) in Canton, MO, Drake University, the University of Iowa, and Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine) . Luther was one of five children born to Alverus Byron Post, Sr., & Angeline (Tufts) Post Quillen. He was married to Mary Margaret "Maggie" (Harter) Post, on August 15,1899, in Linn Co., MO. Together they had four children; Velma Irene (Post) Bryant, Myron Harter Post, LaRita M. (Post) Wilcox Ross, and Galen Luther Post.
