Kapustka, 95, of Ord died April 7, 1998 at the Valley county nursing home in Ord. Memorial services will be held Sat., April 11, at 11 am at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ord with burial following at the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Kapustka was born Oct. 21, 1902 in Krakov, Neb., near Columbus to Frank and Mary (Kusek) Dubas. When a young child, her family moved to Valley County and settled north of Elyria and she attended Fort Hartsuff School. Her mother died in 1915 and she and her sister helped their father raise the four younger brothers. On “April 15, 1929, she married Steve Kapustka in St. Mary's Church at Elyria. They acquired a farm west of Elyria where they lived for over 50 years before moving to Ord in 1980. Survivors include her husband, Steve of Ord; two sons, Alvin Kapustka of Tomball, Texas and Herman Kapustka of Golden, Colo.; three daughters, Virginia Sawdey of Ord, Phyllis Murphy of Greeley, Colo., and Mary Kay Kapustka of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Ted Dubas of Lincoln; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ed, Floyd and Adam; a sister, Celia Savage, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
