Bio
Annie R. Salik, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Annie was the daughter of the late Joe L. and Annie (Patak) Nekuza. She grew up in Ennis and attended St. John Schools. On November 17, 1942, Annie married Emil J. Salik and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for St. John Catholic School for several years in the cafeteria. Annie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT #16, WFLA and the Alter Society. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil J. Salik on March 7, 1974; son, Marvin Salik; and brother, Jodie Nekuza. She is survived by sons, Bobby Salik and his wife, Robby, Jimmy Salik, and Michael Salik, all of Ennis; daughters, Irene Jurica and her husband, Robert, Doris Strunc and her husband, Murray, all of Ennis; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
