V. Strickland Passes Away In Princeton Velpo Strickland, 66 of Princeton, died there Monday. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel, Revs. Lloyd Elder and Alfred Butler officiating, with burial in the Princeton Cemetery. He was born May 29, 1897 in Texas [sic], the son of M. P. and Martha Russell Strickland. He was a Baptist by faith. Surviving are two brothers, W. O. Strickland, Princeton; Omar Strickland, Graham; three sisters, Mrs. W. I. Luckett, Greenville; Mrs. H. A. Hullenden, Arkansas; Mrs. Etta McGraw, Wichita Falls.
