Bio

Ethel Mae Schutza, age 85, of Euless, formerly of West, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 4, 1991 at her residence. Funeral services were Wednesday at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald with Rev. Jimmy Watson officiating. Burial followed in White Rock Cemetery near Ross. Mrs. Schutza was born February 14, 1907 in McLennan County, the daughter of William and Lizzie Degges. She married Charlie W. Schutza on November 22, 1928 in Waco. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1968. She was a housewife and co-owner of the White Oak Grocery near West for 35 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald for over 60 years, where she was also active in the Ladies Guild. She is survived by two sons, Gary Schutza of Richardson and Dennie Schutza of Santee, California; one brother, Lloyd Degges of Elm Mott; two sisters, Edna King of Lake Jackson and Lillian Fuchs of Euless; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Gary Schutza, Dennie Schutza, Chuck Schutza, Scott Schutza, Curtis Schutza, Chip Schutza and Larry Draper. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald.
