Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Mae Lewis Porter, age 87, of Bonham, Texas, will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Morgan Malone of First Baptist Church of Bonham will officiate. Mrs. Porter passed away at Baylor Hospital in Dallas on January 12, 2013. Gladys was born on December 17, 1925 in Cleymont, Delaware, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel Johnson Lewis. She married Glen D. Porter on April 1, 1944 in Salisbury, Maryland and he preceded her in death on April 25, 1986. Gladys was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, and kids. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Lewis, and a son, Charles Glen Porter. She is survived by: Son and Daughter-in-law: Doug and Debbie Porter of Rowlett Daughter: Juanita Williams of Bonham Sisters: Joyce Thomas, and husband, Henry of Salisbury, Maryland Naomi Tarr of Salisbury, Maryland Brother: David Lewis Grandchildren: Kari Reynolds, Robert Kaylor, Kelly Gilley, Catherine Porter Hutton, Shannon Porter, Jason Porter, Dean Champ, Robert Champ, and Cara Marie Caplinger 15 Great Grandchildren Pallbearers will be Jerry Robinson, Robert Champ, Dean Champ, Dan Essary, and Stan Waldrop The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2013.
