Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, 5 August 1918 Miss Celia Dorothy Goff, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Goff, residing at 324 West Thirteenth, passed away at 9:30 o'clock Saturday night at the St. Francis hospital, where she recently underwent a very serious operation. Besides her parents, she leaves to mourn her untimely loss, three sisters, Mrs. William Metro, and Misses Agnes and Eva Goff. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. Friends desiring to call at the home may do so before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Tuesday, 6 August 1918 The funeral services for Miss Celia Dorothy Goff, 23, former school teacher, who died Saturday, will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church. Girl friends of the deceased will be pall bearers. Burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery. Miss Goff's home was at 324 West Thirteenth. ******** Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Saturday, 10 August 1918 Obituary Miss Celia Dorothy Goff was born December 5, 1895, at Grand Island, Neb., and passed away August 3, 1918, at St. Francis hospital after undergoing a serious operation, she being 23 years, 7 months and 29 days old at the time of her demise. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Goff, of 324 West Thirteenth street, and had always made her home in Grand Island where she had a host of friends. She received her education here, and was a member of the graduating class of 1914 of the local high school. Since her graduation she taught school for several years, having a school at St. Libory for two years, and for the past year and a half, the school at Elba, Neb., where she executed her duties in a most efficient and satisfactory manner. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church, where a large concourse of sorrowing friends gathered to pay their last respect. Father Secburger conducted the services. Interment was made in the Grand Island cemetery in the family lot. Besides the bereaved parents, she leaves to mourn her untimely loss, three sisters - Misses Agnes and Eva, of this city, and Mrs. William Metro, of Lincoln, Neb. . .
