Bio

" Arvilee was born January 8, 1931 in Walburg, Texas to the late Philip Christian and Esther Marie Hanusch Schneider. He was raised in the Walburg area and at a young age learned that family was his passion. Arvilee was baptized and attended confirmation class at Zion Lutheran Church. Arvilee was drafted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean War. Arvilee met the love of his life while on a blind date to the movies. They started their life on November 22, 1956, when they married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Austin. They lived in the Austin area throughout their marriage, were active at Trinity Lutheran Church, Redeemer Lutheran Church and most recently, Zion Lutheran Church. Arvilee was known to be able to repair anything. He worked for over 29 years for J. R. Reed Company in Austin, repairing televisions and other small appliances. Arvilee went on to work for over 10 years for the State of Texas, in the Department of Health and Human Services. He was a repair technician, saving the state countless dollars with his ability to repair whatever he was given. There were times he objected to a piece of equipment being trashed, saying "No, give it to me, I will fix it!" Arvilee enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. After retirement he and Bonnie got a piece of land in George West, he had a few head of cattle and loved his John Deere "tractor". Arvilee's family was a very important part of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip Christian and Esther Marie Hanusch Schneider,sister Merlen Schneider, an infant daughter on April 14, 1965, and his half brothers Emil Schneider, Gus Schneider, and half sister Lille Dean."
