Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent February 1996 Cecilia Matousek, 92, of ...died Friday, Feb. 16, 1996, at Park Place Nursing Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. ..Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Matousek was born Nov. 17, 1902, at Tarnov to John and Agnes (Torczon) Nosal. She grew up and was educated in Tarnov. At age 17, she moved with her family to St. Paul. She married Louie Matousek on April 20, 1926, in St. Paul. They farmed in the St. Paul area until 1946 when they moved into St. Paul. They moved to Grand Island in 1949. They worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and operated the Star Motel for more than 10 years. Mr. Matousek died June 21, 1978. Mrs. Matousek remained in her home until recently. Her health had been failing for the past years. Mrs. Matousek was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include one son, Norbert "Bert" Matousek of Grand Island; one daughter, Salomae "Mae" (Mrs. Frank) Zimmerer of Billings, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great=grandchildren; and two sister, Verna Goc of Lincoln and Rosy Sinwald of Sanducky, Ohio. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
