SERVICES HELD FOR LUDWIG A. MAZANEC Funeral services for Ludwig A. Mazanec, 92, a Butler County resident, were conducted Wednesday morning. September 21, from St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City. Mr. Mazanec died Sunday, September 18, at Columbus Manor following an illness of 1 ½ years, Fathers Rudy Oborny and Astuto officiated at the services. Music was provided by the church organist. Members of the Knights of Columbus attended in a body. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brainard. Ludwig A., the son of Frank and Frances Mazanec, was born August 6, 1885, at Abie. On April 12, 1910, he was united in marriage to Mary Barbara Reznicek at Abie. Five daughters were born to this union. He lived in and around Bruno, Abie and Brainard, and since 1968 and at St. Joseph's Villa. He was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Survivors include Sr. M. Bernardine de N.D. and Sr. M. Pauline de N.D, of Clarkson, Mrs. Mildred Cernick of Northridge, California and Mrs. Mary Ann Grubb of Santa Paula, California and one grandson, Deacon Fred L. Grubb, 0. Praem, Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1950, a daughter, Sr. Mary Leona in 1939, his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
