Bio

Mary Riha Horacek, daughter of Martin and Anna Riha was born at Brainard, March 5, 1877. In November 1896, she was married to Anton Horacek. Three children were born to them. Mrs. Horacek lived on a farm with her family until her husbands death in 1925, when she moved to Brainard where she resided for several years. She then lived with her children until the last 18 months when she moved to the community Nursing Home in David City. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Rech and Mrs. Joe (Verna) Urbanosvsky. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Svoboda, Brainard; and Mrs. Louis (Ludmilla) Kucera, Ulysses; a son, George A. Horacek, Brainard; a brother, Frank Riha, David City; and eight grandchildren, and other relatives.
