Bio
Funeral services for Jack Clark, 77, were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 1979, at Shamrocks First United Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. Julius Early, officiating. Interment was in Shamrock Cemetery with Clay Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Dewayne Gollihare, John H. Christner, Johnny Christner, Charlie Brittain, Buck Martindale, Bart Martindale, Buck Breeding and Kenneth Phillips. Mr. Clark died about 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 1979, at Shamrock General Hospital following an apparent heart attack at his home southwest of town. He resided in Collingsworth County for the past 72 years, coming to the area from Bell County. He was a retired farmer and rancher and had also engaged in carpenter work. Jack Clark and Miss Wanda Moore were married November 25, 1925, in Shamrock, Texas. Mr. Clark was a member of Shamrocks First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; three sons: C.H. Clark of Dallas, Dail Clark of Oxnard, California, and Alva Clark of Shamrock; four daughters: Mrs. Waldena Cheatham, McLean; Mrs. Maedean Bernson, Abilene; Mrs. Viola Reeves, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs. Rachelle Leep, Brighton, ILL.; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandsons; three sisters; Mrs. Julia Massey, Shamrock, Mrs. Tommie Robinson, Sedan, N.M.; and Mrs. Gertie Robinson Dumas; and three brothers: Jim, W.D. and David Clark, all of Shamrock; nieces and nephews.
