Bio

Erma A. Vlasak dies in Clatonia Funeral services were held Oct. 28, 1993 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete for Erma A. Vlasak, 72, of Clatonia, who died Oct. 26 in Clatonia. She was born in a stone house on a farm northwest of Hallam in Lancaster County on July 26, 1921 to Joseph and Helen Chrastil. She was associated with the farm most of her life. On Aug. 30, 1938 she married Ben Cerveny and they had six children. In August 1969 they moved to Clatonia. Ben died on Oct. 18, 1974. On Dec. 18, 1980, Erma married Edward Vlasak and again she became a farmer's wife. Survivors include her husband, Edward Vlasak; sons, Joseph of Clatonia, Robert of Osceola, Franklin of Clatonia, and Kenneth of Kansas City; daughters, Sharon Jelinek of Clatonia and Janice Sladek of Crete; brother, Stanley Chrastil of Crete; sister, Arlene Chrastil of Hallam and Gladys Tenopir of Crete; 28 grandchlldren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; sister, Sylvia Chrastil; and granddaughter, Cindy Crawford. The Rev. Paul Quackenbush officiated at services. Soloist was Marilyn Kuncl accompanied by Pat Butt. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Wesley Cerveny, Brad Jelinek, Joe Cerveny Jr., Mark Cerveny, Gene Sladek Jr., Dale Sladek, Adam Cerveny, Kevin Cerveny, Mike Cerveny, Benjamin Cervemy, Arthur Cerveny and Franklin Cerveny II.
