THESENVITZ ALDA - Mrs. Christiane Johanna Thesenvitz passed away at 6:45 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinbeck, three miles northeast of Alda. She was 82 years of age and had been ill only a few days. With her husband, she had made her home with three Steinbecks for the past two years. The departed was born November 17, 1855, in Germany where she received her education and on November 2, 1879, was united in marriage to August Thesenvitz. They immigrated to the United States in 1893, coming to Grand Island where they resided until 1898 when they located on a farm near Alda. Mr. Thesenvitz was successful in his farming operations and in 1913 they retired from the farm and went to Grand Island to make their home until two years ago when they moved to the Steinbeck home to reside. Surviving are her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Steinbeck; five sons, Albert of Alda; Ernest of Grand Island; Charles, at Wood River; and Otto at Omaha; 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Paul Lorenz of Grand Island, and Fred Lorenz of O'Neill, and one sister, Mrs. William Elitz of Omaha and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Steinbeck home, three miles northeast of Alda, Rev. Glen Rice, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated and burial was in the Grand Island cemetery.
