Bio

Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Friday, 11 March 1932 William Fred Thesenvitz, prominent farmer residing five miles west of Grand Island, died suddenly at 3:30 o'clock Friday morning, apparently from a heart attack. Mr. Thesenvitz had no warning of ill-health, being in his usual good spirits and having been around to attend to his chores and other work all of Thursday. Medical aid was summoned but was of no avail. Born in Germany Sept. 3, 1884, Mr. Thesenvitz came to the United States with his parents who located in Hall county in 1892. He was 8 years of age at the time and since has lived on the old home place, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Thesenvitz, having moved to Grand Island some years ago. On November 9, 1915, he was united in marriage to Mary Gulzow Timpke, a union to which two children were born. Besides his bereaved wife and two daughters, Mildred and Bessie, and two step-children, Henry Timpke and Mrs. Albert Diechmann, survive. Also left to mourn his loss are his parents, six brothers, and one sister, a second sister having preceded him in death. The surviving brothers and sisters are Albert, of Draper, S. Dak.; August, of Cooper, S. Dak.; Ernest and Charles, living in Hall county; Fred, of East Liberty, Ohio; and Otto, of Omaha; and Mrs. Henry Steinbeck, and a grandchild. Mr. Thesenvitz was a member of the Plattdeutsche Verein and was baptized in the Lutheran church. Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. H. Schumann officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery.
