Bio

Leo Paul Adamek a retired businessman of Ord, died Jan 20, 1975 in Grand Island. Mr Adamek was a native of Ord, born Aug. 10 1918 the son of Frank and Matilda (Waldmann) Adamek. He attended school in Ord, graduating from Ord High School in 1935. On May 17, 1949 he was united in marriage to Adeline Blaha at Ericson and they lived in Ord where he was employed at the Phillips Service Station. In 1958 he obtained ownership of the station and operated the business until his illness in 1971 prompted his retirement. Mr. Ademek was a veteran of World War 11 having served 3 yrs with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree. He is survived by his wife Adeline, six sisters Mrs Froney Klenecky, Mrs Minnie Sevenker, and Mrs Erma Klanecky of Ord, Mrs Anna Dahlin of Altadena CA, Mrs. Marie Kesler of Anaheim CA. and Mrs.Eva Lashmett of Rosemeed CA. His parents, 3 brothers and one sister proceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ord. Father Stanley Gorak officated.Burail was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Skalka, John Kokes, Jerry Bauer, George Kruml, Edward Zulkoski, and Emos Zulkoski.
