Bio

Born in the village of Rosec, town of Telc, county of Jihlava, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic), the son of Mathias Tomanek (called Michael in Frank's marriage record with Frantiska Kominek) and his wife Maria Mazin. According to research by Jennifer Styskal Faust (#47308726), Mathias died September 17, 1870 at house #47, Rosec, aged 46(?) years. Maria died there on February 22, 1876 at the age of 76. Married (1) Antonia Chapak (Capek?) at Rosec on November 10, 1863. According to the marriage record he lived in house #47 and his age was 26 years, two months and one day. Married (2) Frantiska Kominek on February 6, 1877 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Abie, Nebr. 1880 census (Linwood Precinct, Butler County, Nebr.): Frank Tomanek (45, farmer, Moravia), Fannie (wife, 30, keeping house, Moravia), May (daughter, 14, Moravia), Katie (daughter, 8, Nebr.), Joseph (son, 6, Nebr.), Frank (son, 3, Nebr.), Ellen (daughter, 1, Nebr.). ''''''''''''' Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), December 10, 1903, supplement, col. 2 Linwood Mr. Frank Tomanek at the age of 64 years passed away Tuesday, early in the morning. Mr. Tomanek has been in poor health for sometime. Mr. A. A. Hayek the undertaker, is in charge of the funeral.
