Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., April 4, at United Presbyterian Church, North Bend, with Rev. Don Canady officiating. Burial was at Linwood Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Eckstein was born on Nov. 7, 1916, to Joseph and Mary (Hajek) Focher at Abie. She attended school at District 39, and Octavia High School. She married Frank Eckstein on April 6, 1937. They farmed in Saunders County until moving to a farm near North Bend in 1956. They moved to town in 1957. She worked at the former Campbell's Soup Co. in Fremont for 22 years. She also cooked at Birchwood Manor in North Bend, and cleaned the North Bend Senior Center and North Bend Post Office. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church and VFW Post 8223 Auxiliary, both in North Bend. She is survived by a son, Arlan, Linwood; daughter, Janice (Mrs. Delrae) Eaton, North Bend; brother, Joe, Prague; sister, Elle (Mrs. Bill) Woita, David City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbaand in 1974; and a brother, Ed.
