Joseph E. Stecher, 78 years of Fremont passed away Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born January 3, 1934 in Dodge, NE to Joseph F. and Anna (Tichota) Stecher. He attended St Wenceslaus Catholic School at Dodge. He came to Fremont in 1964. Joseph married Lorinda D. (Allen) March 11, 1975 in Fremont, she passed away February 9, 2009. He worked for several construction companies including Lueder Construction Company prior to his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont, honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 1497 of Fremont, member of the Elkhorn Valley Trap Range at Valley, NE. and Fremont Eagles Club FOE 200. He enjoyed hunting, trapshooting and spending time with his granddaughter. Survivors include his son, Joseph A. and wife Seishon Stecher of Fremont, granddaughter, Mya Stecher of Fremont; sister, Mary Sterling of Fremont; niece, Teresa and husband T.J. Muhle and great niece and nephew Angela and David Muhle all of Fremont; sister-in-law, Nancy Allen of Bellevue, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorinda and an infant brother, Louis Stecher. Funeral will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Moser Memorial Chapel 2170 N. Somers Ave. Fremont, NE. Rev. Ronald Battiato of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. with a Knights of Columbus Living Rosary at 7 P.M. all at Moser Memorial Chapel. Visitation will continue on Monday 1 hour prior to the service at Moser's. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, NE Memorials may be given to the family.
