Marriage, Mary "Polly" (Poorman) Buhrman, October 30, 1819, St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland. The son of the late William Nichols and Barbara Mary Shockey, b 1769. Her parents are Valentine Shockey b: 1735 and Barbara Bixler. Children: Henry Nichols, married Catherine Lauretta Sleasman; Ann Nichols; married John Kiefer; Samuel Nichols Nichols, married Elizabeth Royer; Catherine Nichols married John Izer; Caroline Nichols, married William Flaugher; Silas Nichols, married Barbra Fessler; William "Augustus" Nichols, married Susan Virginia Royer; and Alfred Nichols.
