The Schuyler Sun (Schuyler, Nebraska) 14 Jul 1977, Thu Page 4 Emil M Cherny Buried Monday Funeral service was held Monday for Emil Milos Cherny, 71, retired Linwood farmer and former grocery store operator. Rev. Robert Carlson officiated at 10 a.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home. Mrs. Eugene Dostal was in charge of music. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilfred, William and Leonard Macholan, Larry and Eugene Walla and Leonard Havlik, Sr. Mr. Cherny died Thursday at his home. The son of Albert and Marie Cherny, he was born July 10, 1905, in Linwood. He attended Saunders County School Dist. 86 and graduated from Linwood High School. Mr. Cherny married Emily Ruzicka. Following her death, he married Julia Krejci Purviance on Feb. 11, 1953 at Lincoln. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1975. His entire life was spent in the Linwood area where he served as a Linwood Volunteer Fireman, was on the Town Board and Dist. 86 School Board. He is survived by two sisters, (Alice) Mrs. Tom Kenny, Vinton, Iowa; Anna Leach, Philomath, Ore. and one step-son, Kenneth Purviance, Salem, Ore. Contributor: S.
