Son of Ferdinand Morris and Johanna Pavlicek. Shiner Gazette, February 21, 1963: Ignac Morris, father of Sister M. Veronica and Sister M. John of the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Victoria, Texas was laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Houston, Wednesday, February 13, 1963. Sister M. Veronica, member of the faculty of St. Ludmila’s Academy, took a few days leave of absence to visit with her sick father on the weekend before his death on Monday, February 11, and to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, February 13. Rev. James Welsch, Pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Church, recited the rosary at 8:00 pm Tuesday at the Pat H. Foley Chapel of Chimes. He also officiated at the funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Wednesday in Assumption Catholic Church and at the interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Survivors are five daughters, Sister M. Veronica of Shiner, Sister M. John of San Antonio, Mrs. Hedy Kopecky and Mrs. Ann Sturrock of Houston, Mrs. Betty Buzek of Rosenberg; four sons, Frank T. of Channelview, Rudolph A. and Wenceslaus R. of Houston, August A. of Rosenberg; one brother, August of East Bernard; five sisters, Sister M. Faustina and Mrs. Frances Janak of San Antonio, Mrs. Carolina Schattel of Wharton, Mrs. Josephine Hrncir of Moravia, and Anna of East Bernard; twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
