Bio

She was born Zipporah Lent was born in Pennsylvania December 12, 1824 and moved from there with her parents to Ogle County Illinois where she was married to John Van Horn on December 18, 1850. They had two children. The family came to Iowa in 1865 and those who knew and associated with Mrs. Van Horn during her many years of residence here express grief at their loss. She was a true friend a kind neighbor and a devoted mother and a loving companion; her life was a blessing to the community. Source: Villisca Review Feb. 15, 1906
