Bio

A. J. LEWIS Graveside services for A. J. "Gene" Lewis, 70, of Victoria, who died Monday in a local hospital following a short illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. David Reed will officiate with military services by VFW Post 4146. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Mr. Lewis was born Jan. 21, 1919, in Dallas, to the late Archie B. and Ella Neyland Lewis. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Peggy Robertson Lewis of Victoria; a son, Michael R. Lewis of Reson, Va.; half-sisters, Neva Forster and Nina Twardowsky, of Houston; a brother, Billy G. Lewis of Kingsland; a half-brother, Sammy Faught of Houston; and a grandchild. The Victoria Advocate-Wednesday, November 15, 1989, page 12A.
