Stanley, 45, Route 5, Nampa, who died of natural causes Friday in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Alsip Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Edwin E. Crawford. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. He was born Oct 23. 1934, in Ogallala, Neb., to Cecil and Jane Stanley, They lived near Big Springs, Neb., for a few years. When he was 12, he moved with his parents to Nampa, where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1952. He married Doris Van Cura on Dec. 12, 1954, in Big Springs. They returned to Nampa after their marriage and began farming. In 1959 they moved to Firesteel, S.D., where they continued farming. They moved to Mountainburg, Ark., in 1975, and returned to Nampa in 1976, where they farmed for one year. In December 1977, he started the Sports Shop, a sporting goods store in Nampa, which he owned and operated until February 1980. He then started the Stanley Step Co., which he owned and operated until the time of his death. He was a member of the Franklin Community Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Flanagan of Alma, Ark., and Mrs. Jennifer LaRue and Shellie Stanley, both of Nampa; a son, Milton of Nampa; two brothers, John of Big Springs and Welton of Nampa; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Rhoades of Big Springs and Mrs. Leah, Anderson of Brule, Neb.; and two grandchildren.
