Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), May 28, 1925, p. 7, col. 3 Lived in County 46 Years. Linwood, May 25 – Mrs. Katerine Homolka resident of Butler county 46 years, passed away at her home in Linwood Tuesday, May 19. She had been ill for two weeks, but appeared to be improving gradually, so her death was a shock to her many friends and relatives. She was aged 75 years, 7 months and 5 days. Funeral services were held Friday morning, May 22, at the Frank Parolek home and at the Linwood Catholic church, Rev. Father Mlejnek, of Abie, conducting the services. Mrs. Homolka was born on October 14, 1849, in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States in 1872, residing with relatives in Cleveland, Ohio. She was married in 1872 to Joseph Homolka in Cleveland. They came to Nebraska from Cleveland in 1879, settling on a farm near Linwood, where they lived until 1921, when they moved to Linwood. Mr. Homolka died December 1, 1922. Mrs. Homolka is survived by three children, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Parolek of Linwood and Mrs. Joseph Ustohal of Omaha, and one son, Charles Homolka of Chambers, and by 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Anton Blatny, passed away February 10, 1914.
