Linwood, Dec. 2 - Joseph Homolka, for 42 years residing in and near Linwood, passed away at his home in Linwood on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 6 a.m. Funeral services were held in the Linwood Catholic church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Father Mlejnek. Interment was in the cemetery south of town. Mr. Homolka was aged 77 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was born in Bohemia and came to the United States in 1872, settling in Cleveland, Ohio. He was married to Katherine Nemecek in Cleveland. They resided in that city for seven years coming to Nebraska and Butler County in 1879. They lived on a farm 1½ miles northeast of Linwood until 1920, when they moved to Linwood. Mr. Homolka is survived by his wife, one son, Charles Homolka, of Holt county, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Parolek, living near Linwood, and Mrs. J. J. Ustohal, of Omaha, a number of grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Anton Blatny, died a number of years ago.
