Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Thursday September 15, 1887 Marion Locals The funeral services of Albert Cooper will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, at the Presbyterian church in this city. Mr. Cooper has been a citizen of the county for many years and was a highly respected man. He has suffered several strokes of paralysis and has been helpless for some time. He died at his home two miles northwest of town yesterday. The Legion of Honor will hold a special meeting to-night to take measures in regard to the attendance of Brother Albert Cooper's funeral to-morrow. There will be a special meeting of Robt. Mitchell Post G.A.R. this evening, to make arrangements for attending the funeral services of Comrade Albert Cooper to-morrow. ss. with wives Sarah and Mary A. Cooper. ss. with daughter Nettie Cooper. ss with Lizzie Sutton. Iowa death records for Linn County lists: Albert Cooper, white married farmer; born OH; died at age 54 years 3 months, Sept 14, 1887 after being ill for 3 1/2 months with hamiplegia [sic] at Marion, IA; buried Marion cemetery Sept. 16, 1887; filed by D R Hindman, Marion, IA.
