Per TXDC: Father: J M Findley, Sr. Mother: Annie Vaughn ---------------------------- Obituary found in a publication titled NEWSPAPER OBITUARIES 1962-1983, Cherokee County, TX.; Compiled by Helen Wooddell Crawford, Book 4 October 22, 1973 Emry Lee Findley, 60, of Alto, father of Larry Findley of Jacksonville, died Sunday in a Jacksonville hospital after short illness. Services for Mr. Findley were to be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the O. T. Allen and Son Funeral Chapel in Alto with the Rev. Charles Haley and the Rev. Gene Kendrick officiating. Masonic graveside rites were to follow in Alto City Cemetery. A native of Alto, he was a retired farmer, a cattleman and a carpenter. Mr. Findley was a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Imogene Findley; sons, Larry Findley and Kenneth Findley; daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Campbell; brothers, Edgar Findley and J. M. Findley, Jr.; sisters, Mrs. Lillie Stanley, Mrs. Ada Vinson, Mrs. Eva Fredrick, Mrs. Ann Griffin and Mrs. Dorothy Smith; 5 grandchildren. Pallbearers were to be Carlton Jones, A. G. McMahon, S. L.
