Born in the village of Popuvka, town of Ivancice, county of Brno, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). '''''''''''' Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), June 1, 1916, p. 4, col. 4 FRANK TOPIL Frank Topil was born in Moravia, Europe, in 1832 and died at his home in Brainard on Monday, May 29th, 1916, age 83 years, the cause of his death being carcinoma of the throat, more commonly known as tumerous growth in the throat. In the death of Mr. Topil, Brainard loses one of the old pioneer settlers, as he had resided in the community for over forty years. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic church, conducted by Msgr. A. J. Klein, at 2 o'clock p. m. today, Thursday, and the remains will be intered in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased leaves to mourn his departure an aged wife, one son and four daughters, as follows: Henry Topil of Brainard, Mrs. Frank Lance of Oak Creek township, Mesdames John Jelinek and Jos. Bubak of Ansely, Custer county, and Mrs. N. M. Goeden of Triumph, Minnesota, all of whom are here to attend the funeral except the latter who was unable to come. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the community.
