Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), September 25, 1924, p. 1, col. 8 Was 90 Years of Age Mrs. Frantiska Topil, pioneer resident of Saunders county where she and her husband, the late Frank Topil, settled more than 50 years ago, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m.; at the home of her son, Henry Topil, west of Bellwood. She had attained the age of 90 years, but had been in an invalid, confined to her bed, the last five years. She was a devout member of the Catholic church and funeral services were held at the Holy Trinity Catholic church at Brainard, Friday, with burial in the Catholic cemetery here. Six grandsons, Joe, Anton and Leo Topil, and Joe, James and Ed Lanc, served as pallbearers. As Frantiska Rosa, Mrs. Topil was born in Popovke, Moravia, Czecho Slovakia, in 1834. There she was married to Mr. Topil and together they came to America in September, 1872, pioneering in Saunders county, and later moving to Butler county where they made their home for some years at Brainard. Since the death of her husband eight years ago, she has lived at the home of her son, Henry, in Alexis township, west of Bellwood. She leaves four daughters and one son - Mrs. Lena Goedon, of Kennebeck, S.D.; Mrs. Agusta Jelinek, of Ansely, Neb.; Mrs. Clara Hubak, of Ansley; Mrs. Mary Lanc, of Brainard, and Henry Topil, of Bellwood; 32 grandchildren and eight grandchildren. ____ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank sincerely all of the relatives and friends for their kind services rendered us during the illness and death of our beloved mother and grandmother.
